…there was so much pressure when we were making it. The town kind of stopped, they were like, okay we have to wait to see how this movie starring women does before we can green light anymore. One of my friends whose a writer had a project she was working on and they were like, well we have to wait and see how Bridesmaids does. It’s like—really? Because women are all on a test? Oh, The Hangover’s coming out, have to wait, can’t make movies with men unless this does well. It’s silly. But when it ended up working out it was such a huge relief. It really felt like I could possibly screw it up for all of womankind, and that’s way too much pressure.
