NO BARNEY DON’T SAY THAT
We didn’t learn anything new about The Mother on this week’s How I Met Your Mother… but even if there had been any new clues, we wouldn’t have been able to pay attention! Not with shirtless Joe Manganiello, Paddles the duckling, and Swarkles feels distracting us.

Oh, and Ted was totally off in predicting when he would actually meet The Mother. And Joe Manganiello is back. All this and more in our recap of 8x07 “The Stamp Tramp”!
Victoria totally could’ve been The Mother on How I Met Your Mother. She looks a ton like Ted‘s kids, not to mention that they had such a cute meeting story. In fact, because they keep running into each other over the course of six years, it would make sense that Future Ted wouldn’t tell the kids in season 1 “That’s how I met your mother,” because he didn’t know back then that Victoria was The One. It would’ve been a great twist for him to finally reveal that the person we’ve most been waiting to meet on this show is someone who was there all along.
In 8x04 “Who Wants To Be A Godparent?”, Ted, Robin, and Barney have to envision how they would raise Marvin if Lily and Marshall died. Except… none of the futures they envision actually happen. So how can we take this episode seriously?
The writers really need to stop stalling and give us more hints on The Mother slash decide if season 9 is happening.
Also: Showing us Ted’s kids was a huge cop-out this episode. Grr so many issues.
From now on, our How I Met Your Mother recaps are called Countdown to The Mother. Because those are really the only stakes in season 8, right?
For 8x03 “Nannies,” we have to wonder… if Victoria is such a big deal to Ted, how come we hardly saw her in the episode?
